I have a neighbor that has some grape vines that he never picks. I'm not sure on what type of grape it is they are fairly small green grapes nothing like you pickup in the store. I may have to snag some next season and give this a try. I have a garden myself but I mostly grow vegetables -- Only fruit I have is a few strawberry pots but I don't think they would produce enough for wine.

I found your beer post today while searching for how to make home made beer. You really made some great points on your post How to make homemade wine. I'm not sure I completely understand though....

Also only yeast I can find here in the jungle is Ground baking yeast. Sorry for my ignorance but will thiswork. Also I am doing the balloon theory. How does this work also.

Hi Guys,

My good friend has just gone into business supplying labels for the home-brew market. The labels really are great and add a touch of class to your finished product when bottling. Check the site out at www.yourwinedesign.com

Thanks!

It depends a bit of how you make the wine, if you make fruit wine it does take quite a while as you have too wait for the wine to clear. This can take weeks.

If you make wine from a kit then it is ready in a similar time to beer.

The big difference really is the equipment, wine is usually made in single gallon batches whereas beer is 5 gallon. Other wise there are a lot of similarities.

I've made beer in the past but never wine. Realistically speaking, is there much difference in the process? What about length of time from start to finish?

Wine from fresh fruit can take quite a while, they tend to take a bit of time to clear. Usually a good few months, its just patience really as you just leave the demi john on the shelf.
