Storm Petrel Pale Ale
Greetings Fellow Brewers….
Sorry I’ve been away for a while, work has kept me busy.
Fear not I have been brewing though.
This years naming theme is birds, last years was Aircraft.
So here is Storm Petrel Pale Ale. It’s a 2 gallon recipe, but can be scaled up as needed.
1 Gallon of water
200grms Light Crystal Malt
1.2kg Light malt extract
1/2oz Challenger hops
Boil for 45mins…………….
1/4oz Willamette Hops
Boil for 13mins……………
1/4oz Willamette Hops
Boil for 2 more mins.
Then use Gervin Ale Yeast.
There we have is nice simple recipe, making 2 gallons in total. I’m aiming for nice summer ale with this one, not too dark but with a hoppy flavour.
It is ready in the next week or so, so I’ll post with a review of how it turned out.

Dear All,
First batch of brewing ever and I have one pressure barrell cask that has remained cloudy can anyone tell me how to clear it? Or should I just drink it?

Hi Sean
You can either add a tablespoon of beer finings, and wait a couple of days, or just stand the barrel somewhere cool and wait, sometimes they take a week or two to clear.

Hi, I am very new to this game, I made some great cider in the summer and would like to try a pale ale now. Can anyone advice of a “Pale ale recipes dummies” type guide ?
The one above looks good but how much yeast do I use ?
Thanks
Adam
