Cheap home made Rose Wine
Go down to your local supermarket and by 2 cartons of red grape juice, the stuff healthy people have with breakfast. Then buy a bag of sugar, after sterilising your demijohn and other bits and pieces, empty the 2 cartons of juice into you fermenter. Chuck on top of that 450grms of sugar, add some hot water(from the kettle not the tap) about 2 pints of hot water. Give it a good swirling to dissolve the sugar, top it up to the 1 gallon mark. Then finally add a teasp of brewing yeast, a teasp of nurtrient. Pop in the airlock and puts it somewhere out of bright lights at around 20-24C.
When it’s finished bubbling add a campden tablet to kill off yeast and leave to clear. Mine took a couple of weeks to clear in the demijohn. Once clear syphon into sterilise bottles, then put it somewhere to forget about for a couple or three months. Open and pour, it produces a nice smooth rose wine. In total it costs about 2 quid for 6 bottles of wine, that about 33p a bottle.
Pretty good I thought.
