Woodforde’s Wherry Homebrew beer Review

Posted in Beer Kit Reviews on June 12th, 2006
Back in October 2005 I wanted to make a decent pint to enjoy over Christmas I chose Woodforde’s Wherry Bitter. The unusual name comes from sailing barges which were once common on the Norfolk waterways.
Wherry bitter is an amber coloured, smooth beer with a distinctly hoppy nose and a well-balanced palate. Woodforde’s Wherry Bitter won CAMRA’s “Champion New Brewery Beer of Britain Award” back in 1990/91.
Coming out at an ABV of 4.5%. As an ale it is a superb seesion beer not to strong so you can enjoy a few of them . As a kit it was dead easy to make, it was this kit that introduce me to the idea of rehydrating the yeast before adding it to the wort.
I left if for 3 months before drinking and it was a superb pint.
Highly recommended.
